AeroSoft A1-Cabs Initiative

Aerosoft’s A1-ab initiative is a project supported by Google, undertaken by AeroSoft and students of IIM Rohtak. The motive of the project is to bring entrepreneurship opportunity to the people who are passionate and want to work from home. The business model is designed to help people earn a decent amount of money with a little bit of initial investments and building some contacts in his/her home town.

Business process:
Once someone is ready to be our business partner, Aerosoft provides him/her with 2 weeks of training on how to operate cab franchises in his/her city. After that the franchise owners need to make connections few (at least 5 in the starting) cab owners in their city. By connection, we mean having the contact numbers (it is mandatory for those cab drivers to carry mobile).

Please Note: Aerosoft does not provide with any cabs in any cities, it is the responsibility of the Franchisee to prepare his contact list from available Taxi drivers in the city.

After registration Aerosoft will host the franchisee owner’s contact details in its portal and optimize it such that it shows among the top results when someone searches for cab services online for that particular city. (e.g. search for “best cab services in Indore” in google.com then you will see that Aerosoft’s similar initiative “Zebra Cabs” is displaying on the top.

See Example

Best Car Taxi in Indore, Call 098 26 00 88 99 to Book, Indica, Indigo ...

www.a1-cabs.co.in/

Best Car Taxi in Indore, Call 098 26 00 88 99 to Book, Indica, Indigo, Innova, best cab hire, bast car-taxi ,best cab in london ,best cab in canada, best cab in ...

Similar Results shall be there for DBA city.

Finally, when the franchisee owners start receiving calls for Taxi services in their cit
ies, he/she needs to call up the list of cab owner’s contact and find out a cab which is available and send it to the pick-up point. (e.g. if the franchisee owner is from Hyderabad, he may get a request to pick-up from Shamshabad Airport to Begumpet. Then he needs to call-up his list of 5-10 cab drivers and find who is available at that time and send him there. ) Meanwhile, he needs to SMS the tourist with the confirmation message and the net payment.

Hence, the net effort of the franchisee owner after receiving any call is to only make some calls/SMSs and run good business sitting in the house.

Payment Process:

Out of the total money paid to the Cab owner by the Tourist, the franchisee owner will change 10% as commission and Aerosoft with charge 10% of the franchisee owner’s profit (i.e. 1% the net money transactions).

Hence, for e.g. if Rs. 1000 is the net payment made to the cab owner by the tourist, the Cab owner share is Rs. 900 (because he has to do the entire physical effort and also pay for the Cab fuel).

The franchise owner share is Rs 90.

And Aerosoft’s share is Rs 10.

History Of Taxi Cab

Horse-drawn for-hire hackney carriage services began operating in both Paris and London in the early 17th century. The first documented service was started by Nicolas Sauvage in Paris in 1640. His vehicles were known as fiacres, as the main vehicle depot apparently was opposite a shrine to Saint Fiacre. (The term fiacre is still used in French to describe a horse-drawn vehicle for hire, while the German term Fiaker is used, especially in Austria, to refer to the same thing). In London the Hackney Carriage Act (1635) became the first legislated control in English on vehicles for hire. In the 19th century, Hansom cabs largely replaced the older designs because of their improved speed and safety.
The first taxi service in Toronto, "The City", was established in 1837 by Thornton Blackburn, an ex-slave whose escape when captured in Detroit was the impetus for the Blackburn Riot.
Gasoline-powered taxicabs began operating in Paris in 1899, in London in 1903, and in New York in 1907. The New York taxicabs were imported from France by Harry N. Allen. Allen was the first person to paint his taxicabs yellow, after learning that yellow is the colour most easily seen from a distance.
Taxicabs proliferated around the world in the early 20th century.
The first major innovation after the invention of the taximeter occurred in the late 1940s, when two-way radios first appeared in taxicabs. Radios enabled taxicabs and dispatch offices to communicate and serve customers more efficiently than previous methods, such as using callboxes.
The next major innovation occurred in the 1980s, when computer assisted dispatching was first introduced.
There has generally been a legal struggle concerning the certification of motor vehicles to be taxicabs, which take much more wear than a private car does. In London, they were additionally required to meet stringent specifications (Metropolitan Conditions of Fitness - MCF), adopted in entirety by a number of other large UK cities (including Glasgow and Edinburgh), for example, as concerns turn radius, which resulted for a time in having only one make legally usable.
In the US, in the 1930s, the cabs were often DeSotos or Packards. General Motors offered a specialized vehicle for a time, named the General. The firm Checker came into existence then, and stopped manufacturing cabs in the early 1980s. Its cars were specially built to carry "double dates." But now New York City requires that all taxicabs be ordinary cars. They are mainly long-wheelbase versions of the Ford Crown Victoria. Toyota Sienna minivans are the alternate vehicle of choice in New York's cab fleet. In the 1960s in Europe, Mercedes-Benz and Peugeot offered diesel taxicabs. This form of engine is now the norm in Europe due to its superior fuel economy, torque and reliability.
As emergency transport Taxis played a key part in the First Battle of the Marne. Of the 10,000 French reserve infantry troops ferried from Paris, 6,000 were transported by the 600-strong taxi fleet (7 September 1914).
The Birmingham pub bombings (21 November 1974), which killed 21 people and injured 182, presented emergency services with unprecedented peace time demands. According to eye witness accounts, the fire officer in charge, knowing the 40 ambulances he requested were unlikely to be available, requested the Taxi Owners Association to transport the injured to the nearby Birmingham Accident Hospital and Birmingham General Hospital.

Types of cars used for taxi cab service across the Globe

Country cars used for cab service
Argentina: most models are Chevrolet Corsa and Fiat Siena, with retrofitted or factory-built NGV power plants which means much lower fuel costs than gasoline.
Australia: The majority of Taxicabs in use on Australian roads are now the Ford Falcon or Holden Commodore with most using LPG fuel.
China: In metropolises, such as Shanghai, the Volkswagen Santana series are used extensively for taxicab services. The Hyundai Elantra and Hyundai Sonata are easy to find in Beijing.
Egypt: The taxi system is highly decentralized, with the cab generally belonging to the driver and operated as a private business by him. Consequently, there is some variation in the types of cars used as taxis, although the Tofas Sahin (including the licensed version produced by Nasr) and Lada Riva predominate
France: Today most taxis in France are Peugeot 406. Other brands include Škoda, Citroën and Renault. Mercedes are common in Paris.
Germany: Typically the taxicabs are Mercedes-Benz E-Class along with other, mainly German, brands. Taxicabs are either sedans, station wagons, or MPVs. Common station wagon taxicabs include Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Among the MPVs, Mercedes-Benz B-Class, and Mercedes-Benz Vianos are common. Most taxicabs are automatic transmission, and some have navigation systems on board.
Hong Kong: Most taxis in Hong Kong are Toyota Comfort.
India: Old taxicabs in India are mostly Premier Padmini or Hindustan Ambassador cars but newer ones are mostly Tata Indigo & Mahindra Logan (especially in the big cities). Chandigarh also has a well established system of modern radio cabs using cars like Tata Indigo/Indigo marina, Fiat Siena and Maruti Esteem.
Indonesia: The new taxicabs in Jakarta are mostly Toyota Limo, which is a lower spec of Toyota Vios. Before the introduction of Limo in 2004, the most popular taxi was Toyota Soluna, which based on the 1995 Toyota Tercel. Currently many Solunas are still in operation alongside the Limo. However, the use of subcompact cars in normal taxicabs will stop, and will be used for cheaper taxicabs. Other cars also used as taxicabs are Hyundai Excel, and Kia Rio. Only one operator runs the Nissan Sunny 1.6 Neo.There are also executive taxicabs; these are black Nissan Cedric Y31 and Toyota Crown Comfort, and recently a W203 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, a W211 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, a Toyota Alphard and a Hyundai Sonata.
Ireland: Mercedes E-class and Toyota Avensis are the most common types of taxicab, but free cycle rickshaws sponsored by 7up are also used, and a new fleet of TACSAITHE GHLAISE (Green Taxis) is due to launch in the near future. These will be all electric and include the Nissan Leaf and Mitsubishi i.
Italy : Mercedes-Benz and Fiat models are common.
Japan : Most Japanese taxis are one of three types of cars: a Toyota Comfort type (Toyota Crown Comfort, Toyota Comfort, Toyota Crown Sedan); Nissan Crew; and Nissan Cedric Y31. They all have automatic passenger doors, which open at when a button is pressed by the driver. However, elite taxis may have drivers that manually open the door for you.
Malaysia : Most taxicabs use their preferred car of choice, the Proton Saga Iswara saloon since the 1990s.
Mexico : In Mexico City, according to Mexican legislation introduced in 2001, public taxicabs (in contrast with private taxicabs, or 'taxis de sitio') must be 4-door, painted in red with a white roof, and almost all new taxis are Nissan Tsurus. Before 2001 most taxicabs were green Volkswagen Beetles with a white roof.
Norway : the most popular models of vehicles used as taxis were the Mercedes E-class, Toyota Prius, and Volvo V70, accounting for more than half of the taxi fleet

Oman : Taxicabs in Oman are usually with Orange panels and mostly models of Toyota or Nissan. Philippines : Many taxis here are 7th, 8th and a few 9th and 10th generation Toyota Corollas, though Mitsubishi Lancers, Nissan Sentras and 6th Generation Mazda Familias can also be found. Toyota Tamaraws also serve as Manila's famous "FX taxis", albeit in more of a shuttle form serving certain routes, much like jeepneys. The Toyota Avanza and Toyota Vios are also being seen in taxi use lately. Romania : Many Romanian taxis are Dacia Logan. Russia : There is a long tradition of so-called (in English) 'gypsy-cabs' that comprise most of the City's fleet.[10] These are private motorists, typically in Lada 1300s or similar vehicles, who will pick up passengers in the street. In Russia there also exists a 'luxury' taxi service where taxis are Maybachs and TechArt Magnums (tuned Porsche Cayennes). Singapore : Currently cars commonly used as taxicabs in Singapore are the Nissan Cedric Y31, Toyota Crown Diesel LS150, and Chevrolet Epica taxicab. South Korea: Nowadays most taxicabs are normal sedans such as Hyundai Sonata, Kia Lotze, and Samsung SM5. Spain : By far the most popular car models for taxicab duties, all around Spain, are the SEAT Toledo and the Škoda Octavia; other models that can also be found frequently are the Peugeot 406, Citroën C5, Opel Vectra, SEAT Altea XL, Toyota Avensis, Volkswagen Jetta, some Mercedes-Benz E-Class, etc. Sweden : The cars used are mostly upmarket estates such as the Volvo V70 and the Mercedes-Benz E-class. Taiwan : Many different car models are used as taxis, including Toyota Corolla, Toyota Camry, Nissan Sentra, Nissan Sylphy, Honda Civic, Mitsubishi Grunder, Ford Focus, and Ford Mondeo. Thailand : The taxicabs in Bangkok are mostly Toyota Limo (a lower spec of Toyota Corolla Altis) and Toyota Corolla & Corolla Altis (8th, 9th and 10th generation). There are also the other cars including Mitsubishi Lancer (6th & 7th generation), Toyota Innova, Nissan Tiida sedan, Nissan Sunny (N16&B14), Chevrolet Optra, Suzuki APV and Thairung Adventure Sport 2WD (Thairung's MPV version of Isuzu D-Max). Taxis offer new apps for womens security in mumbai

With increasing concern over women's safety in metropolitan cities, fleet taxi services have started offering several 'applications' to make them and their families feel secure. These applications include features such as tracking cab movement on request of the commuter, sending regular updates to a family member of the commuter or having dedicated services for women after dark. This service enables women commuters to arrange for a designated person or a family member receive SMS alerts about the location of the taxi and journey every 15 minutes. This will ensure a sense of safety and assurance for the lady passenger. This is an opt-in service and free of charge for all. Commuters can opt for the service at the time of booking by giving the phone number on which alerts have to be sent. The alternate number is stored in user's personal account and the commuter can choose to activate it or deactivate it at any point of time through the company call centre or website.
